Because not all of us are brilliant bakers (my best friend Amy, for example), recipes such as this have been created. According to my aunt, this cake is flop-proof.

FLOP PROOF CHOCOLATE CAKE

Ingredients:

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
½ cup oil
½ cup boiling water
2 tbsp cocoa
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs

Method:

Mix dry ingredients together except for 1 tsp baking powder. Mix oil and water, and add to the mixture. Separate eggs and beat egg whites until stiff. Beat the egg yolks, add to the mix and add vanilla. Lastly, add that 1 tsp baking powder to the egg whites and fold in to the rest of the mixture. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
